If you are a woman then you already know how to put a sanitary towel. There are two types of sanitary towels on the market.
One that has adhesive tape and you need to stick them on the panties and the other has wings, which are wrapped under the panties to keep the sanitary towel in place.
They should be changed every 4-8 hours.
Disposable sanitary towels
First remove the sanitary towels from the package and unfold it.
Place your undies under your knees after you take a sit on the toilet.
Then, remove the strip to reveal the adhesive on the back of the sanitary towels. There should be three strips if you are utilizing a sanitary towels with wings. That it the main one and the one on each wing.
Press the pad on your panties, the adhesive part should be stuck in your underwear. Then wrap the wings around your panties and press them as well. If you use pads designed for tongs, then the wider part should be placed on the front part of your underwear.
By pulling your underwear up you can see if the sanitary pad is in the right position. It should cover the entire opening of your vagina.
Check your sanitary towels every two hours so you could see if they need to be changed. If they are wet on the surface and do not absorb the menstrual blood, then they need to be changed.
Fold your used sanitary towels up, just like it was when you removed it from the package for the first time. You should wrap toilet paper around the sanitary towels and after that, throw it away in a trash can.
Reusable sanitary towels
You need to sit on the toilet and pull your underwear down to just above your knees.
With the snap on the wings facing up towards you, put the sanitary towels on the crotch of your underwear.
After that, you have to fold the wings over the sides of the crotch of your underwear.
You should check your sanitary towels every two hours in order to see if it needs to be changed. You will know that it is time to change it when the sanitary towels is wet on the surface and no longer absorbing menstrual fluids.
Put the used, reusable sanitary rowels in a bucket of soapy water to soak. Put a lid on top of the bucket and store it under the bathroom sink. Until the end of your menstrual cycle, you have to keep putting each utilized sanitary towel in the bucket.
At the end, you should empty the bucket of sanitary towels and soapy water into the washing machine and wash in hot water with regular laundry detergent when you are done with your period.
Make sure you get rid of the sanitary towels in a trash that is out of reach of pets. This is because some pets are attracted to the smell of the menstrual blood.
It is very important to wash your hands before and after this process.
