MYTH: YOU WILL CAUSE WRINKLES IF YOU RUB YOUR EYES

Rubbing your eyes will not make you all wrinkly! At least not directly. However, you will pull on the delicate skin around your eyes. In effect, if you continue this back and forth motion of creasing you will create an appearance of premature aging. Just try not to make a constant habit out of it, but rubbing your eyes every now and then should not have any serious side effects!

NOT A MYTH: PONYTAILS AND TIGHT BUNS MAKE THE HAIR FALL OUT

All of these hairstyles can indeed seriously pull on the hair at the scalp which might cause it to fall out.

MYTH: CERTAIN FOODS CAUSE ACNE OR MAKE THEM WORSE

There is no magic formula that determines which foods will cause you acne. Hence, every body responds differently to different foods. On the other hand, the types of food that are most frequently considered the acne-provoking culprits are chocolate and greasy food.

However, keeping track of your diet should help you best in deciding which products have adverse effects on your skin.

NOT A MYTH: RINSE YOUR HAIR WITH BEER TO MAKE IT STRONGER AND THICKER

It is indeed indeed true that hops and barley (used in brewing beer) contain proteins and vitamins that positively influence your hair. At the same time, alcohol has cleaning properties. In addition, beer helps the hair to become wider and swelled until you wash it next time. It is also very cheap!

MYTH: YOU CAN BECOME ADDICTED TO LIP BALM

Luckily, lip balm addiction is not a valid medical condition. However, lip balm does make your skin dependent on substances such as menthol, camphor and salicylic acid which irritates it. In effect, this only causes dryness which makes you apply more lip balm. And you would expect them to hydrate the skin instead!

NOT A MYTH: KEEP YOUR PERFUME IN THE FRIDGE

Extreme temperatures have the potential of spoiling the chemicals and oils each perfume has. Therefore, keeping your perfume in the fridge may indeed be a viable option if you live in a hot climate! Additionally, direct sunlight kills all the perfume particles at a faster rate. This is yet another reason why storing your perfume in a dark and cold place might work to its best advantage.

MYTH: CONDITIONERS CLEAN YOUR HAIR AS WELL

Conditioners have very mild cleaning properties. Therefore, it is best to apply conditioner on damaged or extremely dry hair. You will get the most benefits out of its softening properties in this way. Otherwise, avoid conditioners if you have problems with greasy hair or an extremely oily scalp.
